Watch: Marcell Ozuna hits go-ahead HR to propel Braves over Marlins

With the Braves down to their last strike in a rubber match against the Miami Marlins, Marcell Ozuna came up clutch.

After an 8-1 victory on Friday night, the Braves seemed to be well on their way to winning their weekend series against the Marlins, but a 5-1 loss on Saturday and a largely uninspired effort on Sunday put the Braves in danger of losing a series to the worst team in baseball.

With two runners on, Ozuna was down 0-2 in the count against Miami reliever Tanner Scott. With the odds stacked against him, the Big Bear hit a big fly against his former team to win the series for Atlanta.

The win improves the Braves' record to 9-5 ahead of a crucial road trip against the scuffling Houston Astros, followed by three straight home series against the Rangers, Marlins and Guardians.

Ozuna has been key to Atlanta's early season success in 2024, as the DH extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a 3-for-5 day at the plate on Sunday.

With a .373 average through the first 14 games of the season, Ozuna leads all Braves players who have played in every game in batting average, and trails only outfielder Jarred Kelenic (.414) for the best overall average on the team. He's also contributed seven home runs, 21 RBI and a .413 OBP.
