Brian Callahan is 'fired up' about what he thinks Treylon Burks can do for Titans in 2024

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan may have just put any doubt surrounding wide receiver Treylon Burks ahead of the 2024 NFL season to rest.

Callahan joined 3HL on 104-5 The Zone Monday afternoon following the NFL draft where he used words like "fantastic," "optimistic," "great" and "fired up" to describe how well Burks' offseason is going so far.

"He's really had a fantastic start to the offseason program, Callahan said. "I've been happy with what he's done. That's honest, he's done a great job of learning and getting a bunch of different things down. And I think he's really stacked a handful of really good days together since we've started. I'm optimistic about about him contributing for us, and I think he's gone about it the right way. So, I have a lot of respect for how he started off."

Titans Plan to Use Burks Everywhere in 2024

Since being drafted 18th overall by the Titans in 2022, Burks' NFL career has been hindered by injuries. In two seasons with Tennessee, he has just 49 catches for 665 yards and one touchdown to his name.

But it sounds like those numbers are about to take off next fall with Burks set to be a major contributor in Callahan's offense.

"He's gonna do a little bit of everything, you know, versatility for us. So he'll, be able to do some stuff outside," Callahan said. "Ultimately, it's my role and our coaching staff's role to find a handful of things that he can really help us with and highlight those as much as possible. Some of them might be in the slot. Some of them might be outside, but I'm fired up and I think he's got a chance to help us."

Callahan put a big emphasis on Burks' versatility and plans to use him in many ways.

"Trey's got some versatility to play everywhere," Callahan said. "He can play outside, he can play inside. And so we just got to find what those things are for him. I think he's got a chance to help us in a lot of different spots."

That's great news for the Titans who could use the help at receiver, while Burks could use a big-time comeback to erase potential "draft bust" from his resume.
