Eagles, Landon Dickerson Agree To Record-Setting Extension
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have already been very busy this offseason. They overhauled the coaching staff around head coach Nick Sirianni, giving him new offensive and defensive coordinators for the third consecutive season.

Player personnel-wise, the Eagles have some work to do as well. General manager Howie Roseman has commented on some of the needs the team has, as their defense needs an upgrade in the worst way.

On the offensive side of the ball, the team needs a fresh game plan. Things got stale near the end of the 2023 season and the results tapered off. There was no real rhyme or reason to how the Eagles called plays on offense as things were disjointed and not free-flowing.

One of the ways to get back on track is to continue to dominate in the trenches. The Eagles have had notoriously strong offensive lines and they made a move on Monday morning to ensure that remains the case moving forward.

As shared by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Eagles and Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson have agreed to a record-setting extension. The two sides have agreed to a four-year deal with $84 million in base salary and a maximum value of $87 million.

The $21 million annual value makes him the highest-paid guard in NFL history. He will receive $50 million guaranteed in the deal and a $20 million signing bonus. Rapoport noted the deal was done and confirmed by his agents at SportsTrust Advisors.

Last season, Dickerson was the No. 17 graded guard in the NFL out of 79 qualified players. He received an overall grade of 69.4, with a pass-blocking grade of 76.9 and a run-blocking grade of 66.9.

The pass-blocking grade was good enough to land him at No. 12 in the league. This was Dickerson’s least productive season of his career in terms of PFF grades, which speaks volumes to the bar he has set for himself when it comes to the level of production he has provided the Eagles in his first three seasons in the NFL.
